.2015 ODI World Cup 

India broke their duck in the INDv SA head-to-head record in the 2015 World Cup group stage fixture in Melbourne. Riding on Shikhar Dhawan’s 137 and Ajinkya Rahane’s 79,  the ‘Men in Blue’ posted a humongous 307/7 after opting to bat first. The Proteas were never in chase, as the three-time ODI World Cup semi-finalists were all out for 177. Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets, while Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma also shone with the ball.

It was the first time in 10 years an ODI World Cup fixture was added to the India vs South Africa head-to-head ODI record. The 2011 World Cup group stage clash saw India batting first in Nagpur, where Sachin Tendulkar scored 111.  Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir were also among the runs. However, once three departed, the innings collapsed, and the hosts were all out for 296. South Africa, in reply, was led by Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, and AB de Villers, who all hit fifties.
