Dharamshala Stadium, officially known as Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, is one of the most picturesque cricket stadiums in the world. It is not one of the regular Indian Premier League (IPL) venues, but Punjab Kings have been playing a few of its home matches in Dharamshala since 2010. Also, the stadium has hosted five fixtures in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

In IPL 2010, Kings XI Punjab and Deccan Chargers met in the first-ever IPL fixture at Dharamshala Stadium. The Chargers won by five wickets thanks to the then 22-year-old Rohit Sharma's blistering 68*. Kings XI Punjab opener Mahela Jayawardene's unbeaten 93 went in vain.
Adam Gilchrist is the first and only player to score an IPL hundred at Dharamshala Stadium. There have been excellent knocks by Shikhar Dhawan, Adam Gilchrist, Liam Livingstone, Jaywardene, and Virat Kohli, all of whom have registered a 90+ score in Dharamshala. Among bowlers, only three bowlers - Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, and Morne Morkel - have taken four wickets in a match at the picturesque ground.
