Most wickets in the T20 World Cup belong to Bangladesh’s spin all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. He is closely followed by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.

This record belongs to Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, who has 47 wickets in 36 matches. Shakib made his T20 World Cup debut in 2007 edition and since then, his graph has risen spontaneously.

He is closely followed by Shahid Afridi, who played 34 matches and went on to pick 39 wickets. 

Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga is the third top wicket-taker with 38 wickets.

In fourth position is Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal, who has 36 wickets in 23 matches, and is closely followed by Ajantha Mendis, who has 35 wickets in 21 matches.

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga topped the wicket-charts in that particular edition. He was closely followed by Sam Curran from England, who had 13 wickets in six matches.

Before 2021, the T20 World Cup was played in 2016 in India, where the West Indies reigned supreme.
Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi was the top wicket-taker with 12 wickets. He was followed by his own compatriot, Rashid Khan, who had 11 wickets to his name.
On number three, was New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner, who had 10 wickets to his name.
