Narendra Modi Stadium is among the most popular venues in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The stadium, which has a seating capacity of 1,32,000, is home to Gujarat Titans – the IPL 2022 champions – and hosted the final of the 2023 season. In the 2010, 2014, and 2015 seasons, the stadium, then known as Motera Stadium, hosted a few matches of Rajasthan Royals. Also, Narendra Modi Stadium hosted five league stage matches in the Covid-affected 2021 season.

Jos Buttler was the first player to score an IPL hundred at Narendra Modi Stadium. The first five-wicket haul at the stadium came in the 2023 season when Bhuvneshwar Kumar took five wickets for 23 runs against Gujarat Titans. The highest score in IPL at the venue is by the Titans, who piled up 233 against Mumbai Indians in the 2023 season.
