Rajasthan Royals (RR) have a unique distinction in the Indian Premier League (IPL) – they are the inaugural champions. In the 2008 season, they overcame Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling final in Navi Mumbai. But things haven’t gone according to their plans since. Apart from reaching the IPL 2022 final, there has been little to cheer about for the Jaipur-based franchise. In 2021, the franchise appointed Sanju Samson as captain.
