Dashing batter Harry Brook broke into the IPL spotlight after he received ₹13.25 crore from Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 auction. But the primary reason for this uptick was his presence in England’s 2022 T20 World Cup-winning squad and excellent performances in Pakistan.
Brook usually bats with a devil-may-care attitude. For that reason, SRH was willing to pay him so much. But his maiden IPL campaign fizzled out soon. He did score a century while opening the batting against KKR, but his overall tally of 190 runs in 11 games was just not good enough for the amount of prize money he was getting; therefore, he was let go ahead of the IPL 2024 auction where Delhi Capitals bought him for ₹4 crore.
