2022
Worth ₹5625 crore, Gujarat Titans (GT) joined IPL in the 2022 season. The owners quickly set up a crack team at short notice, bringing Ashish Nehra as head coach, World Cup-winning coach Gary Kirsten as batting coach-cum-mentor, and Vikram Solanki as their Director of Cricket.
The result was that they became the only team after Rajasthan Royals to win the title in its inaugural season. The franchise had a fine combination of young and old. Moreover, the foreign players were constantly performing.

Hardik Pandya was firing on all cylinders, while Rashid Khan and David Miller punched above their weight. They also had an old workhorse in Mohammed Shami, who was as consistent as ever.
In 2023, the team performed even better, with Shubman Gill and Shami winning the Orange and Purple caps, respectively. The team finished runner-up after losing to Chennai Super Kings in a rain-truncated final. However, a disappointing season followed. GT, under the leadership of Gill, could only muster 12 points and ended up eighth in the points table in the 2024 edition.
