Worth ₹5625 crore, Gujarat Titans (GT) is owned by CVC Capitals. Once they were formed, the owners quickly set up a crack team at short notice, bringing Ashish Nehra as bowling coach, World Cup-winning coach Gary Kirsten as batting coach-cum-mentor, and Vikram Solanki as their Director of Cricket.
The result was that they became the only team after Rajasthan Royals to win the title in its inaugural season. The franchise had a fine combination of young and old. Moreover, the foreign players were constantly performing.
