Career Overview/ Highlight : Mohammed Shami IPL 2011 to 2024

Shami played his first IPL game for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013, where he stayed from 2013 to 2015. From 2016 to 2018, he played for the Delhi Daredevils and was bought by the Punjab Kings in 2019.

All this while, he was getting better with his skill set, and it showed in the numbers. In 2019, he picked up 19 wickets for the Mohali-based franchise and would again repeat the same kind of performance with a 20-wicket tally in 2020.

In 2022, he moved to the Gujarat Titans, who were playing their first IPL season. He took 20 wickets and won the title with the franchise. But his best came in 2023, where he picked 28 wickets, going on to win the Orange Cap.

Shami’s IPL career has often been marred with injury and less-than-satisfactory performances, but from 2019 onwards, he looked a different beast altogether.
