Career Overview/ Highlight : WriddhIman Saha ipl IPL 2008 to 2024
Wriddhiman Saha made his IPL debut in 2008 for the Kolkata Knight Riders. With the middle order packed, Saha was never promoted to the top of the order, and this ensured that he batted in the middle overs where the wicketkeeper-batter couldn’t afford to eat up too many balls.
The runs dried up, and he couldn’t even reach the 100-run mark even once between 2009 and 2013. It was in 2014 that he moved to the Punjab Kings, and his fortunes started to change. He scored a century in the IPL 2014 final but ended up on the losing side.
Since then, he has seen many ups and downs, but after he departed from the Indian test team in 2022, his T20 batting has improved. For instance, in 2022 and 2023, he amassed 317 and 371 runs, respectively, with the bat. He has opened the batting for Gujarat Titans in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
