Career Overview/ Highlight : Mitchell Starc IPL 2022 to 2024
Nitish Rana made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2016. In fact, he was snapped up by the franchise in 2015, but the abundance of talent in the middle order ensured that he had to warm the bench. He finally got a call in 2016 and impressed the following season when the franchise won the trophy, with Rana scoring 333 runs with the bat.
Kolkata Knight Riders took note as they swooped in and picked him up for the 2018 season. Rana impressed with his ability to time the ball perfectly. He scored 304 runs during his maiden season with the Kolkata outfit.
In 2019, he showed improvement, scoring 344 runs, which included three fifties. Pleasing to the eye, Rana had good starts but struggled to convert those starts into a big score.
By the time 2022 came, he had established himself as one of the senior batters and was named the skipper as Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the 2023 season. Although KKR struggled, Rana’s career improved, with the Delhi batter scoring 413 runs – his highest ever tally in IPL history.
