Career Overview/ Highlight : Krunal Pandya IPL 2016 to 2024
In 2016, a year after his younger brother Hardik Pandya’s debut, Krunal Pandya joined the Mumbai Indians. Bought for ₹2 crore, he scored 237 runs and took six wickets in his first IPL season. Two years later, in the mega auction, Krunal was retained by Mumbai Indians using Right to Match (RTM), which allowed him to become the most expensive uncapped Indian player then. He received ₹8.8 crore.
Four seasons later, he was let go after winning three IPL titles with the Mumbai outfit. During the 2022 mega auction, there were plenty of takers for the all-rounder. After an intense battle, Lucknow Super Giants sealed his signature for ₹8.25 crore. He was named the franchise’s vice-captain in the 2023 season and led the team in a few matches in KL Rahul’s absence. Krunal has played a pivotal role in helping them reach the playoffs in two seasons.
