Career Overview/ Highlight : Nicholas Pooran IPL 2019 to 2024
Pooran joined Mumbai Indians in 2017 when he was bought for just ā¹30 lakhs. He played no games as Mumbai went on to win the title that season. Since he warmed the bench, there were no takers for him in the IPL 2018 auction.
In the 2019 IPL auction, he got a hefty sum of ā¹4.2 crore from Punjab Kings, but here, too, he failed to click with the bat as he made just 168 runs. It was only in 2020 that his best came to the fore. The Caribbean batter scored 353 runs in 14 games at an impressive strike rate of 169 for the Mohali-based franchise.
He again had a dismal season in 2021 and was released from Punjab, but was soon acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for his explosive hitting skills and more-than-decent wicket-keeping. Pooran is playing for Lucknow Super Giants, who paid him a whopping ā¹16 crore in the 2023.
