Career Overview/ Highlight : Jitesh Sharma IPL 2022 to 2024
One of the hardest hitters in modern-day cricket, Bairstow’s best for England came once he was promoted to the top of the order. His white-ball cricket improved rapidly, and an IPL contract remained a formality.
In 2019, he made his IPL debut at Sunrisers Hyderabad and, alongside David Warner, formed a lethal opening combination. Moreover, he was sublime and never compromised on his flare, playing attacking cricket against pacers and spinners. Bought for ₹2.2 crore, Bairstow slammed 445 runs in his debut season, which also had a century.
He was let go ahead of the mega auction in 2022, where he got a considerable raise, with the Punjab Kings buying him for ₹6.75 crore. Although he had an off-season, scoring 253 runs at a lowly average of 23, he was retained for 2023. He missed out on the tournament with a freak injury.
