Glenn Phillips

Despite being one of the finest finishers and best fielders, Glenn Phillips never got going in the IPL. He debuted for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 only after a late development where pacer Jofra Archer was ruled out due to an injury. 

Since he wasn’t a like-for-like replacement, he managed to get just three games under his belt. Although he had a poor start, he seemed hopeful of a comeback. A year later, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him in the mega auction, but his hopes of getting a more extended run were shattered as he warmed the bench with the team losing game after game. 

But he got a fresh lease of life when the franchise retained him unexpectedly for the 2023 season, where he featured in five games. He played a pivotal role, a 7-ball 25, in the thrilling victory over Rajasthan Royals in the league stage fixture.
